Memon Ladies Circle was born in 2009 under the auspices of our Nasserpuria Memon Jamat and was created with an aim of bridging the gap between the Memon Women Association (MWA) and the Memon Girls Union (MGU). The need of having a mid level society that would attract and appeal to the more active and productive segment of the community, the young ladies, was a requirement necessitated to actively engage and involve all the ladies, across board, in the growth and development of our Jamat. The concept was already in existence through the presence of the former Memon Young Ladies Society (MYLS), but formalizing it was necessary and that could only be done through creating a fresh society with a different appeal. All this formulated under the reign of Mr MohamedAli Harunani with Mrs Abida Bagha as the interim Chairlady. The core functions of Memon Ladies Circle are:

1. Women empowerment through various economic and social events.

2. To encourage environmental conservation, cleanliness and hygiene within the Jamat and more specifically on all its premises.

3. To instill patriotism in the young girls/ladies of our Jamat.

4. To empower ladies towards giving honorary service to the Jamat.

5. To assist sub committees of the Jamat in matters related to ladies under strict confidentiality (i.e. Welfare/Medical/Home Affairs).

6. To assist in organizing and facilitating events and functions held by the Jamat.

7. To organise and conduct programmes to educate and entertain members of our Jamat.

8. To encourage active involvement of all our ladies in the growth and development of our Jamat through a fun and exciting way.

Some key and annual events held by MLC are; Telematch, Cottage Fair, Walkathon, Eid Mela, Memon Muslima, Global Village, Islamic Talks, Golden Generation Quiz and many other amazing events.

The Jamat is in us because we are the Jamat. Long live NMJ.
